Actor Jason Statham has revealed that he has no interest in starring
in a superhero movie, as he feels that the cape would not fit him.
Statham, 46, whose latest movie 'Homefront' to hit theatres this
Friday, said that the visual effects-driven blockbusters do not hold any
personal appeal to him, reported
Digital Spy.
"It's all about money, kids pay money to go and see them,"
Statham said. "The fascination is superheroes, it's what people want to
go and see but you wouldn't get me rushing to the cinema to see those. I
like the old-fashioned type of film.
"They've never offered me a part in one of those and I don't think the shoes would fit. Or the cape wouldn't fit!," he said.
'Homefront' will see him play a retired DEA agent who faces off
against Louisiana drug dealers and Statham said that he welcomed the
opportunity to reunite with Sylvester Stallone.
"When I read it I just knew it was going to attract a lot of
decent actors. The parts were fleshed-out, good and strong instead of it
just being 'here's the hero, here's the bad guy'. This was an actual,
interesting good story.
"I liked the relationship my character Broker has with his daughter, that was new for me."
